A unique fold
of a core of 10-12 𝞫 strands, a region that bisects the SET
domain, referred to as the iSET, which contributes to substrate
recognition, and extended loops.
The
SET domain is flanked by two heterologous regions at its N- and
C-terminus, referred to as nSET and cSET. The cSET contains
conserved residues that are important for substrate binding and
for catalysis.
The
cSET region folds back onto the SET domain threading through a
loop formed by a preceding stretch of the sequence to create a
"pseudoknot".
